. 3 Answers SOURCE: The updater that I could find directly via iRiver support did not work, but based on one of the other tips, I googled for the Version 2.7.0.0 updater (MTP iriver Firmware Updater for MTP devices). I recommend that you try the 'normal' updater from the website (maybe yours is not an MTP version), and if that can't recognize your player, try the updater from the link above.

If you install the UMS firmware you will permanently LOSE Janus support (y'know, DRM subscriptions like Napster-to-Go) as you will NOT be able to go back to the MTP firmware (at least as of yet.) You will have to flash it again, this time using the ORIGINAL UMS firmware from iRiver.
