I think Rubik designed it after he finished with the Rubik's Cube. Look at Download.

And you won't see it. Click on View All in that frame and you'll see something cryptically called NLE Editing and File Transfers Click on that and you'll see something written in Klingon PDZ-KP1 Version 2.7 PDZ-KP1 is Klingon for Sony XDCAM File Transfer.

The version number. 2.7 is also wrong. Click on Click Here to Download Software. It's very tiny to ensure no one over 40 can read it. You then find that PDZKP1 is described as XDCAM Transfer Plug-In for Final Cut Pro (MAC).

To the left of that you'll note that the Product Category is Videotape Recorders This is to let you know that you are downloading the Videotape Recorder for your tapeless camera. Click on the Klingon PDZKP1 and it takes you to You'll see Kit Part Numbers which lets you know that there as many types of PDZP1 in Klingon as there are words for snow in Eskimo Look for Kit Part Number FPDZKP1A2 The Kit Description will be XDCAM XFER V2.10.0 XDCAMHD422 Which may well be a later version than 2.7 previously mentioned unless Klingon uses a different numbering system than found on most places on this planet. Note how the Description includes XDCAMHD422 which is not XDCAMEX420 to discourage download if you've actually gotten this far.

Hello, I'm new to these forums and I hope resurrecting this old thread isn't bad form but I have a related question. What I want to know is: this SONY XDcam Transfer Software (once you've found it) is often a 'Transfer Plug-In for Final Cut Pro (MAC)'.

Do you need this software when transferring from a card reader to a PC? Is anything else required? Trying to open the reader without any software installs gives the option to 'format drive' which seems obviously undesirable. I know this is a very basic question but any help is appreciated! Thanks, Shamini.

Cheers Noel Noel Wilson Film Director & Producer Rampant Films Hong Kong & Asia Pacific. Hi everyone, I'm terribly confused.

I have a Sony XDCAM PXW-X70 and am successfully editing in Premiere. Glad I made the switch from FCP7, since Premiere can ingest anything! But meanwhile, I need to give some raw footage I shot to another person editing with FCP7. I don't have the files on the card anymore, they are archived on my hard drive, under the file structure top/PRIVATE/XDROOT/Clip. I need to figure out how these can be imported into FCP7. I installed the XDCAM EX Log and Transfer Plugin 1.2, but no luck. BTW, the clip are 2K if that makes any difference, recorded at 50mp/s.

Hope someone can help. I am running on OS 10.9.4.

Sony Electronics has released new software to allow content transfer between its XDCAM HD Professional Disc system and Apple Final Cut Pro editing software. The software is provided free of charge and may be downloaded from Sony's. It provides native interoperability between the two entities. 'This is an important collaboration between us and Apple that can provide tremendous benefits and efficiencies to our customers,' said Bob Ott, vice president for optical and network systems at Sony Electronics. 'Final Cut Studio is one of the first nonlinear editors to provide a comprehensive workflow with our XDCAM HD system.'

The two companies are taking the news of this development on the road, with a 12-city tour that started on June 28 and will continue through August. Apple is running the tour and it features both product demonstrations and tutorials. Stops are scheduled in Dallas, Miami, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, San Diego and Minnetonka, Minn. 'The industry is in the midst of a dramatic transition to both high-definition and tapeless production,' said Rob Schoeben, vice president of applications product marketing at Apple. 'Working in close collaboration, Sony and Apple have paved the way by defining the world's first complete XDCAM HD workflow, from acquisition to post.' Product specialists and executives from both companies will demonstrate system interoperability at each stop on the tour.
