J m o o r e 1 0 4 Once it connects, works great Sometimes it connects right away, other times takes a while, a few times it never connected no matter what I tried. However, once the connection is made, the video quality is quite good, and there's no lag whatsoever. I could only find one other app that seems to do the same thing as this one, but it is limited, the quality is much worse, and there was substantial lag. I hope that the devs will continue to update this app and maybe focus on improving connection issues - then the app would be perfect I think. ————————————————— So yeah I stand by my original review, but the app says I can use both cameras if I leave a review, so I'm hoping I will not need to leave a completely separate one to gain this functionality. ————————————————— Well I hate to do this, but this was one of my absolute favorite apps, and now all it does is crash.

Well, it starts ok, but moments after the Mac finds the virtual webcam on my iPad, the image displays for maybe 2 seconds and then the iPad app crashes - every time! I know I'm not doing anything different from before, so my only guess is this was caused by the app update recently.

Anyone else having this issue? ————————————————— Turns out the app still works just fine on my iPhone, but crashes on the iPad. Still, I've updated this review 3 times and yet can't use the front camera, so I think that's a bit of a scam they have going. I'm just glad it doesn't crash like on the iPad. Imark77 A free app thats actually free but worth paying for This app is very promising even for a free app. It is usable it's not demo crap where The only downside is the occasional not to intrusive ad.

There's a bit of a connect delay then once it's up and running it runs pretty well. The best part is you can run thit in to camtwist And have a whole lot more fun!! Like a roving camera Live feeding a projector with video effects. It Has a few bugs and clerks here and there but it's my number one pick for sending video from my phone to my computer live. I haven't really used it for anything but I still feel like I want to buy it ( it would be nice if there was a sale, I find I'm impulsive purchasing in the under three dollar range). I don't know what else to say I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Imark77 A free app thats actually free but worth paying for This app is very promising even for a free app.

Automatically detects devices and connects on the same WiFi? You can use it anywhere within WiFi range and with pretty good quality for a free software. Of course it would’ve been nicer to have a free 720p or native phone camera resolution but I’ll take what I can get.

Users should only pay for filters that they could apply, or more recording features like slow mo. UI is so simple that it is confusing, I would want helper messages to get my phone connected more smoothly. It took many tries and I’m sure next time I use it, it will take more repetitive tries because it isn’t predictable.

All in all though a good free webcam. INeedANickName1537 Good but confusing When I first got this it was very promising. Automatically detects devices and connects on the same WiFi? Great suggestion, bobwillwy! For other readers, if you have not already bought a webcam, consider bobwilley's suggestion to use theMac-compatible (and lower-cost).

However, for users who already have the Logitech 920, as demonstrated in, the 920's Hi-Def and other functions works if you add software. Note that Hi-Def frame rates and audio syncing issues can occur. CPU power, data bus speeds, and/or video card limitations, especially in older or slower Macs, may give less than perfect results when attempting to deal with the huge data processing requirements of full 1080 HD. I bought the Logitech C920 from Best Buy without realizing it was not stated as Mac compatible. Only listed Windows.

So never opened the box. Ordered the Logitech C930e from Amazon as it stated Mac compatibility. Installed the C930e and the video flickered and the audio was sub-par and it wouldn't run through my powered USB hub. So after seeing this post I opened and installed the C920 and it work GREAT and runs through my hub! I simply use it for FaceTime with family.

FYI - I am running a 2013 rMBP with a DELL U2713HM Display. Showbiz11 wrote: The Logitech software is interfering.stops when the Logitech software is removed. Many third-party (non-Apple) software apps cause conflicts for some, but not all, users. You cleverly discovered the right workaround for your problem!

For benefit of other readers, Mac-compatible USB cams will work with your Mac without adding any third-party software provided that you are using OS X 10.4.9 or later. I never even install the third-party software when I plug in a new camera. The unique functions advertised by the third-party will not work without adding the software, but Mac-compatible third-party camera will provide all normal functions of Apple software that uses a camera. The benefit of this limitation is that you will not be bothered by the interference showbiz11 encountered. Message was edited by: EZ Jim.

Showbiz11 wrote. 'Webcam Settings'. Works beautifully. It is good that Webcam Settings is working so well for you.

However, is not Apple software. It is available in the Mac App Store (MAS) from ' Mactaris ', an independent Mac OS software developer. A look at the MAS Customer Ratings for Webcam Settings shows great satisfaction from most users. Those that need an alternative third-party add-on might want to consider, which is available directly from its developer and has offered user-controllable functions to Mac camera users for many years.
